Island Hopping

Aqualand is one of the closest islands to Nadi. The tiny coral island is surrounded in beach and caters exclusively for day-trippers. South Sea Cruises offer day tours to Aqualand for the active - parasailing, jet skies, banana boat rides and speedboats for hire. For the more sedate, or romantic, Captain Cook Cruises operate a schooner to Tivua Island in the Mamanuca's. Tivua is a beautiful uninhabited coral island with good snorkelling. Malamala Island in the Mamanuca's is another small and beautiful uninhabited coral island with tours by Fiji Fun Cruises including activities, glass bottom boat and beach BBQ. Day cruises are also available to several island resorts in the Mamanuca Group including Beachcomber and Mana Island.

Day trips by aeroplane are also available. Sunflower Airlines offer 12 daily flights to Malolo Lailai where day-trippers can use the resorts facilities.

Robinson Crusoe Island, a remote spot just off Natadola beach in West Viti Levu, is an action-filled day tour starting with a boat journey through the mangrove forests. The island is small, taking about 20 minutes to walk around and the beach is good. The main attraction to the island is the constant activities on offer. Water sports and rides, reef snorkelling, a traditional Fijian BBQ lunch, guided forest walks and coconut tree climbing exhibitions or simply relax in a hammock on the beach.
