Fiji Island Resort

A small Fiji island resort spanning a secluded beach is the country's specialty, and these can be found throughout the gorgeous Mamanuca and Yasawa islands. Some of these island resorts have as few as three bures, others up to fifty, but all focus on providing an exceptional service. A few of the more upmarket island resorts are all inclusive affairs, some even including alcoholic beverages in the price. The majority of boutique resorts have 24-hr reception, small shops, room servicing, nightly turn-down, dining restaurants and sunset bars, scuba diving facilities, activities bures and spa centres, or at least massage huts; complimentary snorkelling equipment and sea kayaks are standard, although on occasions a refundable deposit or payment for hire is required.

There are more than 30 island resorts in Fiji. Some of these island resorts occupy tiny uninhabited coral islands whilst others sit alongside a small cove beach hidden by rainforest and cut-off from civilistaion on larger islands. All Fiji resorts pride themselves on their intimacy and natural surroundings. Most island resorts offer bure style accommodation - individual open plan bungalows built from natural materials to reflect the traditional Fijian home. Bures have thatch roofs, high ceilings and wooden beams.
